February's characteristic is grit, defined as working consistently toward my long-term goals. Each student will face situations where grit is needed to keep working toward reaching goals, despite setbacks. Helping your child build grit now will help them understand that they can accomplish anything when you work hard.

We want to thank everyone who participated in the book fair this year! PTO volunteers worked hard to donate 1,107 books (valued at $9,084.51) to students, teachers, staff and the library in loving memory of Lori Thompson, a very special volunteer that is dearly missed.
Thank you, PTO!

We have had a great time celebrating literacy this week!
For Friday, students are encouraged to wear a favorite hat to school to show that great minds are always under construction when it comes to reading!
Don't forget your reading logs for the Masked Reader reveal!

Celebrate Literacy Week continues...
Students are encouraged to wear a school appropriate shirt with words on it for everyone to read. The more you read, the more you'll know!

Celebrate Literacy Continues.....
On Wednesday, students are encouraged to "dress up to impress or what you want to be when you grow up" because reading is an important tool for success.

Celebrate Literacy Week at LCE continues....
For Tuesday, students can wear a pair of sunglasses and dress in neon colors because reading helps to make your future BRIGHT!
